The script was flipped on this particular evening as the flu bug raced around Silicon Valley only to take up residence in the C-Man's larynx at the absolute worst possible moment... the night before the show! But have no fear, contingency plans were in place (sort of). In an act of unheretofore unseen bravery on the part of a bassist, Pete Rock stepped in to provide an ample but certainly not comparable vocal presence in support of our ailing frontman. As evidenced by the following visual record, the pressure of his added duties caused our affable four-stringer to produce more than his normal quota of sweat (which is sizable enough already), but it was a paltry price for Pete to pay to learn the rigors of one of the toughest jobs in show business... right behind Terrell Owens' agent.
